We took a yellow school bus to get to the sugar bush which was an exciting first bus ride for some of our younger children. When we got there we filled up two tractor pulled wagons and rode down into the sugar bush. They served us homemade pancakes with fresh maple syrup - Delicious! With full bellies everyone took a tour of the sugar bush. We learned how maple syrup is made, how the sap has been collected through the ages and all about the different types of maple syrup. Did you know it takes 40 - 60 gallons of sap to make one gallon of maple syrup?
Before we left we had just enough time to visit the playground and to slide down the giant slide on a potato sack. Manon Tanguay |
